Vuvuzela, iPhone App Review

vuvuzela appRemember the Vuvuzela? It reared its ugly annoying head during the last World Cup in South Africa. It was pretty basic. A plastic horn people blew into non-stop throughout match-ups creating an incredibly annoying sound. I loved it. So when Sarah mistakenly ruined her life by telling me about the Vuvuzela app on the App Store, I had to have it.

This app is super basic. Pick a horn color and tap away at the Vuvuzela. You'll be delighted to hear the annoying blare of a the horn. Turn up the sound on your iPhone and chase your wife around with it. Even this long after the World Cup, I still love this app.

If you like to be annoying as much as I like to be, go download this for free in the App Store.

MoneyUnder30.com - An Awesome Blog

Money. Its important to have, important to manage, and important to understand. But aside from one short econ class in high school, I barely had any formal training in how to make smart decisions about my financial security. A lot of what Sarah and I have learned over the past few years has been through trial and error. I think that if we had found MoneyUnder30.com, we could have saved ourselves a lot time by reading some of the great advice found on that blog.

MoneyUnder30.com isn't run by a financial institution or a professional financial adviser. Instead, its run by a guy like you and me. When he started his blog he was in his mid-twenties and was about $80,000 in debt. Over the course of four years he paid down his debt, started saving, invested his money, bought a house and started a family. That's an incredible turn around in such a short amount of time. However, when you read his blog, you can see why his dramatic change happened. David Weliver applied himself to researching a solution to his problem and stuck to his goal of becoming debt free and managing his finances in a smart way.

Now he continues to write MoneyUnder30.com and has some of the best and most easily understandable advice about money management I have come across. He shares what he has learned with readers in order to help regular people take control of their future and become more secure. Because of David's life experiences, personal goals, and great writing style, I now understand concepts of finance I had never previous attempted to unravel.

No matter what stage of getting your financial life in order you are at, there's something for you on MoneyUnder30.com that can help. I highly recommend you check out David's site and see if he (or his guest authors) have written about something you have always had questions about.

Would love to hear what you think. Comment below!

LEGO Project: Black Monarchs Ghost

LEGO Black Monarchs Ghost

The LEGO Project series is a look through the Second Snack collection of LEGO sets from Thomas’ childhood as well as some modern sets. For years these LEGO bricks and pieces have been laying dormant in plastic bins but with the pooled resources of the Internet, reassembling sets is now a reality.

I covered the Black Knight a few weeks back and this set looks very similar to it. However, there are more pieces and one key ingredient in addition to a mounted knight. This set from the castle theme included a glow-in-the-dark ghost mini fig. The paper instructions from the time period included an additional page that told the builder how to "charge up" the glow in the dark ghost so that he would activate in the dark. Totally AWESOME!

Along with the ghost you get a couple of flags, a stone bird gargoyle and a few weapons. Another of the small filler sets that came with the bonus of very rare pieces to keep kids excited by small and cheap to purchase sets.
